Today is
Photo Friday so I thought I'd do the unthinkable. A friend of mine recently posted some old pictures on
facebook, which included a ton of me. Needless to say, I was mortified when I saw the pictures. I recognize that I'm not that size anymore, but I
still feel like I am. If that makes any sense. I still struggle when I go shopping and feel like I should pick up a size 14 or a XL. When in fact the other day I bought a size 4 pair of pants and an XS shirt. It's crazy how I refuse to see the smaller me and still deal with the scars of being overweight. I was talking about this with
Pumpkin and she told me that I should be really proud of myself for what I accomplished. While it's hard not to be embarrassed, I know she's right so that's why I'm posting these pictures. I am proud of what I accomplished and I know I'll
never let myself go back to that again.

Me and KT winter 2008
I lost the majority of my weight right after Andy and I got married in 2004 (I'm the only woman who loses weight after she gets married!). I started September 1, 2004 and by Christmas of that year I was down 20 lbs. I have continued to lose over the years and as of today, I weigh 40 lbs less.
And finally, as for HBBC, had a GREAT workout! Earned 9 points today which brings me to 66.35. Also finished week 1 of the 100 push up challenge. Woo hoo!!

YOu look so good, Dennis! Pumpkin is right- you should be proud of yourself. BTW - who's that Katie chick? She's lookin pretty good too.... ; )
Wow you look so good! :) Thanks for posting the pics, I always find it fun when people post pictures and I can put a face with the name!
Wow! You've made quite a transformation :)
What ARE you & KT holding in that last pic?
That's a big change. That is awesome. I feel the same way. I NEVER want to go back to the body i had.
Wow Denise!! You look amazing now. So beautiful!! I had no idea you lost all that weight. GOOD FOR YOU!!
Waitaminute, you're a on Facebook??? Why aren't we friends??
Wow! That's quite a comparison! Congrats! And I worked my way through (part of) the 100 pushup challenge! GOOD LUCK!!
You look amazing! Way to go Denise! Congratulations on all your hard work. Have a great weekend!
Lookin' good, Biscuit! Makes me want to go back to Jamaica...
OMG, I wouldn't have recognized you! You look so different and what an amazing turn around! Most people get motivated for the wedding and then plans turn to mush. Good for you! I had no idea you made such a transition, not that you weren't beautiful before, but now you are totally in shape and a marathoner! What motivated you ? Great job!!!
I couldn't get past the picture of Andy with hair!!
I've had similar issues, in college, and my fear since then has been gaining the weight back! It wasn't as dramatic a change as you but definitely changed my life and how I think about things. Hitting the same number on the scale that I was in college before I lost weight has been hard with pregnancy but I know it will go away! You look great so don't be sad. You've come so far and should feel amazing about yourself!
Way to go, that's such an accomplishment. Congrats!
You look Great! Your effort has paid off.
I too lost weight after we got married:) GREAT JOB GIRL!
Dayum girl! You look awesome! Great job on the weight loss!
It's so funny you posted this. My friend from high school posted a pic of me from 1992 on FB and I was amazed at how bad I looked (much heavier). I thought about doing a post about it too.
You look great, congratulations! You beat me to it - I just posted my own ugly fat picture for a Before & After shot. It is a hard thing to put on the web, but you are correct, we should be proud of ourselves - keep on running!
Wow, Denise! You look incredible. What a transformation. Kudos for not only losing the weight, but for adopting a healthy and fitness oriented lifestyle.
